San Antone ("Tex") retired from racing in the spring of 2015, and after spelling in Alabama for a few months, began retraining in Firestone, CO, in October 2015.  He was walk/trot/cantering and jumping small courses quietly and happily after just a few weeks in training, and he loves trail riding. He is quiet, willing and easy - a simple, safe project for a young rider or intermediate adult.

San Antone found his forever home in February of 2016 with Monique Saenz of Boulder, CO.   In May of 2016 Monique and San Antone competed and won at their first dressage show together at Singetree Farm in Boulder.  Monique said, "He was perfect!  He did not miss a turn, step, or stop, and he rewarded me with my very first blue ribbon.  The judges commented that they loved the harmony we exemplified during our ride."  She went on to say, "I'm so fortunate that Tone picked me to be his forever mom. He is the sweetest, most gentle and loyal Thoroughbred I've ever met. We both are still learning and we help each other along the way. Although Tone and I are working on dressage, my desire is to share him with others as a therapy horse.  I personally have benefited from Equine Assisted Therapy, and San Antone appears to have the ideal personality to be a therapy horse. In fact, in his brief three months with me he has helped me as much as I have helped him. Thank you again for saving this gentle, loving soul. And for sending him to Angelika (Beutel) in CO for his final training so that our paths could cross."
