Mary believes strongly that examining one’s spiritual relationship is crucial to the change process. “We strive to respect a client's personal belief systems--accepting them where they are—but encouraging clients to explore those areas of their life and how it relates to their growth.” “A personal relationship with God is the key to balance and meaning in life.”
Mary has loved animals all of her life and has seen the positive, powerful effect they can have on people. She got her first horse when she was nine and never lost the wonder, magic and desire to be around these magnificent animals. “Horses have much to teach us about ourselves and it’s a fun and unique way to learn. They challenge us to change.”
Darla Garon, Equine Specialist
Darla was born with a love for animals, especially horses. She has been involved with horses, in some form, most of her life. She was raised believing you had to work for what you want, and began feeding and caring for the horses, training and giving riding lessons at several of the areas large boarding stables.
She began her formal training in hunt seat, and has competed successfully in the Hunter/Jumper circuit. Darla was also a member of the United States Pony Club, and has had the opportunity to ride cross country, dressage, and to compete in the USPC National Competition in Kentucky.
In college, she was a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, showing in both hunt seat and western pleasure, and studying in the field of equine science. Darla has always known the educational and emotional power horses have on people. She became EAGALA Level 1 certified in September 2005, in hopes to help others realize their potential.
